It's official!  Last night it was announced that my radio novelas project has been selected a winner of the Knight Arts Challenge by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.  42 projects (!) have been awarded -- representing almost $1.4 million -- in this first year of the 3-year challenge.  This is a huge act of support for St. Paul and St. Paul artists.

I'm proud to be included, especially as a representative of the Dayton's Bluff community and the East Side.  I was especially excited to find out that other East Siders -- -- John Slade (Unite University) and Peter Rachleff (East Side Freedom Library), both also Dayton's Bluff residents -- have also been chosen to be part of this first cohort of awarded artists.  What a great gesture of support for the creative energy emanating from Dayton's Bluff!  I know this energy runs deep.  Each of our projects seeks to engage the community and showcase and enhance creativity here in St. Paul.

Check out today's Pioneer Press and Star Tribune for much more on all the projects.  I'm including links to the web versions of the published stories below and (not just because) I'm quoted in each.  Stay tuned to fireonthebluff.com for ongoing progress reports on the project as it progresses.
